For more than 20 years, Gwen Zeichner, L.C.S.W., has provided counseling with children, adolescents, and families who are experiencing family conflict, peer issues, emotional irregulation, and self-esteem issues. She uses a direct validating approach to have all individuals reach their desired goals. Gwen utilizes open communication with strength based counseling. She is a behavioral specialist with Pittsburgh Technical Institute on behalf of Outreach. She also facilitates Outreach’s Aggression Replacement Training (ART) program, a powerful intervention tool designed to teach adolescents to understand and replace aggression and antisocial behavior with positive alternatives. ART is offered to children involved in the juvenile probation system within Allegheny County. Gwen also works for Mercy Behavioral Health as a mobile therapist, dealing with children, adolescents, and families around the community.
Gwen earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Chicago. She has previous experience as a counselor running crisis centers, working in psychiatric inpatient facilities, along with a background in corrections.
